ReNew Our Schools has inspired K – 12 students across Colorado to become energy leaders in their schools and communities since 2007. Many schools have truly excelled and won significant awards. This year’s competitions have inspired districts to further seek ways to be energy efficient, begun or expanded after-school environmental clubs, and brought an energy-saving outlook home to the families of the students who worked so hard during the competitions. All told, ReNew Our Schools touches as many as 10,000 students and their families per competition!
Renew Our Schools has:
- reached almost 150,000 students across Colorado
- Worked with most of the 10 largest school districts in Colorado
- Reached over 21,000 households that have pledged to save energy
- Revitalized or created over 100 Environmental Clubs with long term sustainability goals
- Given out over $500,000 in awards to winning schools
- Saved school districts up to $12,000 in energy costs in one month of competition!
Each of our schools gets to work with a professional from the local energy community. We could not run these competitions without their support. For a complete list of Mentors and Companies that have participated, click here.
