Resource Central Invites the Community to Support Conservation Efforts in Colorado and Beyond
BOULDER, COLO. – Resource Central, an award-winning nonprofit, is over the moon to announce that retired astronaut Captain Scott Kelly will be the keynote speaker at Conservation Heroes & Hope on Friday, November 15, 2024. This annual celebration recognizes Resource Central’s conservation impact and gathers support for expanding climate action across Colorado and beyond.
Keynote speaker Captain Scott Kelly will share his unique vantage point as an astronaut who has a special appreciation for the importance of conserving limited resources. A veteran of four space flights, Kelly commanded the International Space Station (ISS) on three expeditions and was a member of the yearlong mission to the ISS. In October 2015, he set the record for the total accumulated number of days spent in space, 340 days, the single longest space mission by an American astronaut.
“Conservation Heroes & Hope celebrates our progress while supporting our commitment to helping more people save water, conserve energy, and reduce waste,” said Neal Lurie, President & CEO, Resource Central. “We’re thrilled to have Captain Scott Kelly as our keynote speaker. In space, conserving resources is key to survival, and no one knows that better than him.”
For community members interested in conservation or looking for a fun night out to support a good cause, Conservation Heroes & Hope is an out-of-this-world experience. Save your seat for Captain Kelly’s keynote and an evening of inspiring stories from local conservation champions, food and drinks, and a silent auction.
