Ready to replace your lawn but not interested in doing the removal yourself? Nonprofit Resource Central’s Lawn Removal Service is a professional removal service rooted in conservation.
This service makes transitioning to a waterwise landscape simple and stress-free. Participants receive professional lawn removal services that create a clean slate for their next landscape chapter, all while contributing to meaningful water conservation across Colorado.
This service is for professional removal only. We also offer a Do-It-Yourself option if you want to take on the project yourself.
Crews operate from late May through late summer, weather dependent. Appointments open on a rolling basis, allowing you to select a date that fits your schedule.
How Our Removal Services Work
Our crew arrives with professional sod-cutting equipment, removes your unwanted turf, and hauls it away for composting. When the work is complete, you are left with a clean, soil ready for your waterwise landscape plans.
1. Is Your Lawn Ready For Removal?
Let’s make sure your lawn qualifies:
- It is healthy and well-maintained
- It has not already been removed
- You want to replace your lawn with at least 50% of plant material

2. Check For Your Discount And Apply
Choose your 2026 water provider or municipality from the dropdown below to see if you are eligible for a discount.
Don’t see your municipality or water provider listed? Go ahead and apply by selecting “Other.”
There may still be discounts available to help support your project through our Lawn Removal Service.
3. Get Approved And Schedule Your Removal
After your application is approved, and starting in May, you will be invited to book an appointment. Our crew will arrive on your scheduled date, remove your lawn with professional equipment, haul the grass away for composting, and leave you with a fresh patch of soil ready for waterwise landscaping.
- Starting March 9, applications are reviewed on a rolling basis
- Invitations to schedule will be sent starting in early May, on a rolling basis
- Our conservation crew will start Lawn Removal Service in mid-May and wrap up in late summer
- We’re removing thirsty grass around the Front Range and will do our best to schedule based on project density and region to conserve resources
4. Bring Your Waterwise Yard to Life
Within six months of removal, transform your space with at least 50% waterwise plant material and start building a more resilient landscape.
