Rachio smart controller and Rain Bird rain sensor installations are offered at no cost to eligible Jefferson County residents living in the following areas:

    • Lakewood
    • Morrison
    • Wheat Ridge

During the installation appointment, our technician will set up the smart controller or rain sensor and show you how to use it. Please note we have limited smart controllers, rain sensors, and appointments available per season.

During the installation appointment, our technician will set up the smart controller and/or rain sensor and show you how to use it. We have limited smart controllers, rain sensors, and appointments available per season, and you must first complete a sprinkler evaluation prior to receiving a smart controller or rain sensor.

How to apply:

1. 1. 1. If you have not previously signed up for a Slow the Flow service, you may register for a sprinkler evaluation, smart controller, and/or rain sensor here. Please note a sprinkler evaluation is a required pre-requisite for a smart controller or rain sensor.
      2. If you have previously signed up for a Slow the Flow service, reach out to us at 303-999-3824 or water@resourcecentral.org to be added to the smart controller or rain sensor registration list.
      3. You will receive an email confirmation for joining the registration list. In the confirmation email, there will be a link to an eligibility application. You must complete this form before we can consider you for a smart controller. Please note that if you apply for both the smart controller and rain sensor, there are 2 separate email confirmations and eligibility applications.
      4. We will review your application(s) and contact you if we have any questions.
      5. We begin scheduling appointments in mid-June. We will reach out to offer appointments if we still have units remaining once we reach your name on our registration list.

Unfortunately, if your water provider or municipality is not listed, you are not eligible for a smart controller or rain sensor installations through Resource Central. Check your water provider website to see if they offer rebates for purchasing a smart controller on your own. Our water provider partnerships are changing every year, so check back with us again next year!
