Discover the vibrant world of native plants with the Biodiversity Nursery garden. Designed by Lauren Freels of the City of Boulder Climate Initiatives Office, this 100% native collection boasts 29 plants bringing late season color and essential pollinator habitat to your yard. Perfect for full sun spaces up to 7,000 ft. in elevation, this 100 square foot garden enhances biodiversity while delivering a strong, colorful finish to the growing season.
This garden was created in partnership as part of an exciting citizen science study launched by the City of Boulder’s Climate Initiatives Office . Have you noticed how the seasons seem a little different each year – earlier blooms, later leaves, unexpected weather swings? The study of the timing of seasonal events is called phenology. Learn how you can be part of scientists’ understanding of the story these changes are telling by visiting the Neighborhood Nature Lab.
