Resource Central’s Lawn Replacement program helps Colorado homeowners replace thirsty grass with waterwise landscapes that save an average of 15,000 gallons of water each year. It is our most impactful program for water savings, helping communities build a more resilient Colorado one yard at a time.
Through partnerships with local water providers and municipalities, our nonprofit is able to offer these services at a significantly reduced cost, making conservation both practical and accessible.
Two Options to Replace Your Lawn
We come to your home, remove your lawn, and haul the grass away for composting at a discounted rate through water partners. It is a simple, hassle free way to clear your space and get started on a waterwise yard.
Remove the grass yourself and receive up to four Garden In A Box kits at no cost to create a pollinator friendly yard designed for Colorado’s climate. This option is perfect for homeowners who enjoy hands-on projects.
Does My Lawn Qualify For This Program?
Project areas must be at least 200 square feet and replaced with at least 50% waterwise plants. Participants and properties must be in good standing with their water provider or municipality. You must also agree to adjust sprinklers or watering schedules to support a low water landscape and improve water efficiency. All projects must follow local ordinances and receive HOA approval, if required.
