Following is a statement by Neal Lurie, President of the nonprofit Center for ReSource Conservation on the organization’s toilet upgrade program recently launched in Boulder County.
“Interest in water conservation is soaring, so we’re scaling up to meet that demand. We’re doubling the number of technicians to install twice as many water-saving toilets each week. With hundreds of efficient toilets already installed this spring, our goal is to install the remaining ones by early summer. Together, these upgrades will conserve up to 180 million gallons of water while helping families save money.
This program is a catalyst for change. More than two-thirds of participants report they wouldn’t have upgraded their old, water-wasting toilets without this program. The overwhelming majority of the feedback is glowingly positive, reinforcing that upgrading old toilets is a smart way to conserve water and make a difference.”
