Waterwise Garden Goes Big

In partnership with Denver Botanic Gardens and Northern Water, Resource Central, a local conservation-focused nonprofit, is excited to announce the newest Garden In A Box offering, Splendid Seasons. This new waterwise garden covers 200 square feet, making it the largest ever offered in the Garden In A Box program’s 19 year history!

This partnership aims to make it as easy as possible for Front Range residents to save water through waterwise landscaping on a larger scale. Following guidelines from Northern Water, removing at least 200 square feet of existing grass and replacing it with low-water plants leads to significant outdoor water savings. As the program’s first full 200 square foot offering, Splendid Seasons will allow homeowners to ultimately reduce the amount of water used on their landscape with one complete garden.

“We are thrilled to have partnered with Northern Water and Denver Botanic Gardens on our largest garden yet!” says Water Programs Manager for Resource Central, Melanie Stolp. “With multiple planting maps, Splendid Seasons makes waterwise landscaping even easier for larger areas.”

High-Color, Low-Water

Splendid Seasons is designed by Annie Barrow of Denver Botanic Gardens. The plants included are high-color and low-water, and will bring interest and pollinators to yards during every season. The garden features three plant-by-number maps, making it simple to adapt to many landscape types and sizes. One of these unique designs features a walkway through the center, perfect for planting in a front yard and increasing curb appeal. When planted following Plant Select and Denver Botanic Garden’s Western Best Practices Guide, this garden is a great and simple way to landscape sustainably. Learn more about the new garden here.
