This spring, students across the country took their energy-saving skills to the next level in Renew Our Schools’ Spring 2025 Competitions. From detailed energy audits to changing behaviors and taking real action, these schools didn’t just participate—they owned their buildings and created lasting change.
We’re thrilled to celebrate these inspiring schools and the students, staff, and coaches who powered them forward. 🏆⚡
But before we do, here’s a few of the major highlights from this season:
1. A total of 36 schools and 19,024 students were impacted by the Renew Our Schools Competition this Spring.
2. Schools completed a total of 479 school energy actions, while earning 6,976 points.
3. Collectively, the schools saved an average of 7.18% energy!!!
Spring 2025 STAR Competition Winners
Delta High School and Westview Middle School
Both schools earned a remarkable 491 points—our first-ever tie for first place!
These two schools showcased their leadership in energy awareness and action, earning the highest possible score by completing energy audits, implementing energy-saving strategies, and driving whole-school engagement.

Spring 2025 DCSD Competition Winners
Sedalia Elementary School and Lone Tree Elementary School
Both schools completed every possible energy action and achieved record-setting energy savings!

Sedalia Elementary School reduced its energy usage by 32% over the course of the competition.
