As month of rain continues, Boulder nonprofit seeks building supply donations to help neighbors stay warm and dry
BOULDER – May 21, 2015 – As rainy skies continue to threaten the region – and Memorial Day weekend plans — a local nonprofit seeks your help in keeping neighbors warm and dry.
ReSource, a program of the Center for ReSource Conservation (CRC), is asking community members to drop off unneeded building materials to make them available to homeowners repairing leaky roofs and rebuilding landscapes damaged by recent rain.
“A month of rain is taking its toll on local residents,” said Neal Lurie, CRC’s president. “If you have reusable building supplies sitting in your garage or unneeded materials from 2013 flood repairs, let’s make them available to others — and keep them out of landfills. We’re looking for gutters, windows, doors, lumber, unused shingles, corrugated metal sheeting, landscape pavers, flagstone, and other building materials.”
Building material donations to ReSource are accepted at 6400 Arapahoe Ave in Boulder, Monday through Saturday 9am-4pm and Sunday11am-3pm. ReSource is closed on Monday, May 25 for the observance of Memorial Day. Other products may be recycled at EcoCycle’s Center for Hard to Recycle Materials which is located next to ReSource.
Through community donations, ReSource has diverted more than 3 million pounds of reclaimed materials from landfills annually.
