Warmer weather and conservation are in full swing, with a busy and impactful summer on the horizon!
A huge thank you to everyone who joined us on Saturday, May 17, for the kickoff of our Rock & Reuse summer concert series! It was a fantastic day filled with positive energy, community connections, and seeing conservation in action. Over 600 people came out to be part of the reuse movement. Thousands of dorm essentials, from storage bins and fans to mirrors and décor, found new homes. Many parents and students even stocked up for the fall semester giving gently used items a second life and helping us to keep usable materials out of the landfill.
Here’s what we accomplished together:
- 54,000 pounds of dorm and building materials diverted from the landfill
- Over 1,300 individual dorm items given a second life
- More than 600 program participants on site — including many new faces!
This event was a powerful reminder of what’s possible when a community comes together around sustainability, and the summer is just getting started!
Mark your calendar for the next Rock & Reuse event on Saturday, June 7!
