Daniel is the founder of Tenkara USA, a brand he created to introduce the simple Japanese method of fly-fishing (tenkara) to the US and beyond. For 12 years, Daniel created a successful company where he greatly enjoyed telling the story of tenkara through writing, videos and podcasting, as well as designing the gear needed for it and always maintaining a strong conservation ethos at the company (such as donating over 1% of revenues to non-profits such as Resource Central, and working to eliminate single use plastic in its products). Daniel sold the business to focus on finding ways he could more directly help our planet. Daniel has been a supporter and customer of Resource Central since moving to Boulder a bit over a decade ago, and currently lives in Lafayette, Colorado, where he enjoys the outdoors, especially thru scrambling on the Flatirons.
